Kevin Wagar Wins Gold at 2024SATW Canadian Chapter Awards For The Photo People Category

At the Society of American Travel Writers Canadian Chapter Awards held at the Le Germain Hotel Maple Leaf Square in Toronto, Kevin Wagar was honoured with a gold in the Photo People Category for a shot of his wife, Christina, overlooking the Grand Meteora Monastery in Meteora, Greece.
Judged by Toronto photographer Stephen Uhraney, the photo was awarded alongside one of travel writer Melody Wren, whose photo of an Inuit woman in Canada’s Northwest Passage was published in one of Kevin’s popular publications We Explore Canada.
Judge Stephen Uhraney had this to say about Kevin’s photo and his Meteora series: “The photographs that accompany the article are exceptional, capturing the beauty of Meteora’s monasteries perched atop towering rock formations. These images not only complement the narrative but also stand alone as compelling visual art.”
Along with Gold in the Photo People category, Kevin was also awarded his first-ever award in a video category for his YouTube video about Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
