Sharing the stage with a remarkable selection of landscape photographers at the Travel Media Association of Canada 2024 Awards, I was honored with a second-place finish for Best Landscape Photography.
I had the honor of being nominated along with my good friends Oksana St. John of Drink Tea Travel and Roland Bast, along with frequent We Explore Canada photographer Robin Karpan, my photo of a Thai fisherman casting his net amidst the backdrop of the beautiful Khao Phing Kan (James Bond) Island in Phuket, Thailand was very well received.
The photo was snapped from the water late in the day as the sun to the right of the island created dramatic shadows and ethereal light.
The photo marks the fourth straight year that I have been nominated for this award. I’ve been lucky enough to have placed in the top three every year. You can find the full list of winners from the night of celebrations here.
Congratulations to my fellow nominees!
